Mont Del HOA Annual Meeting September 18, 2018


  1. Call to order at 7:05
  2. Intro to speakers
  3. Jim Hinderaker, Assistant City Manager for the City of Benbrook
    1. Upgrade of hwy 377 and new architectural standards and business restrictions
    2. Capital improvement projects
      1. 377 beautification
      2. Animal shelter, due to open in October
      3. Emergency access bridge
      4. Vista lane extension
      5. I-20 lane addition and sound walls (not funded)
      6. RM 2871 roadway expansion (2024)
    3. Commercial development
      1. New Audi dealership on Hawkins boulevard
      2. Raising cane’s chicken
    4. Residential development
      1. Eight residential projects in the works
        1. 2389 lots or units
    5. Many questions were asked about commercial and residential development
  4. Cathy Morris, Economic Development Director for the City of Benbrook
    1. Benbrook Economic Development Council (BEDC) is a type B corporation
    2. Several projects are ongoing
    3. There is a budget and grant program to help a businesses improve their facilities
    4. Benbrook is mostly a retail economy
  5. Annual Mont Del Meeting activities
    1. Motion read the previous minutes waved, minutes approved
    2. Treasurer’s report approved
    3. 2018-2019 proposed officers is approved
    4. 2018-2019 Area Directors remain as listed
    1. Cheyne Hadley was thanked
  6. Directories
    1. Please email Chad any new info for the new directories
  7. PayPal is now available to pay dues
  8. David Corley III is heading up a committee to design an improved entryway committee
    1. Asking for volunteers to help design and implement
  9. The new bench was dedicated to Don Shipe at the Pond
  10. Old business
    1. Chad and Anna Jones are the new welcome wagon
      1. Have welcome 5 new neighbors
    2. Bill Bettis will take over flag patrol
    3. State of the ducks
      1. Three ducks out of the permanent group remain
      2. No new ducks will be introduced to the pond
      3. Migratory ducks will still stop over occasionally
    4. Yard of the month
      1. David Corley will continue to issue yard of the month
  11. Fall projects
    1. Trunk or treat Oct. 28, 5-7pm
      1. Fill your trunk with candy and park it around the park
      2. Come by and bring friends
      3. Fliers will be passed out
    2. Ladies annual cookie exchange Dec. 1, 2-4pm
    3. Donuts with Santa at the Castros
    4. Movie by the pond to be discussed

    1. Potluck
    2. Looking for new ideas
