Below is a quote stating the intent of the meeting:

Please allow this to serve as a clarification of what is being addressed at the Benbrook City Council Meeting on Thursday, March 2, 2017, at 7:30 p.m.

There will be a vote on whether or not to seek federal funding for the pedestrian and bike portion of any bridge built across the Clear Fork, if any, in the future.  This vote is precipitated by a closing window to seek such funds to pay for that aspect of any future bridge, if any.  In other words, if the federal funding is sought and obtained, this aspect of the bridge, if built, will be paid for through federal, as opposed to local, funds.

The vote on Thursday will not address what type of bridge will be built, and is not a vote to build the bridge itself (whether single-lane emergency access only or a full bridge).  This will be addressed at a different meeting, for which there is no agenda item at this time.

Please accept our apologies for any confusion.  However, we still encourage anyone who is interested in the topic of the proposed bridge to attend the City Council meeting or contact the Benbrook City Councilmen/Councilwomen to discuss the matter with them.
