Stay Hydrated

It's hot out there, people!

As the dog days of summer settle in, make sure to drink plenty of water.  Heat stroke can sneak up on you and be a killer.  Watch out for the following signs:
  • Throbbing headache
  • Dizziness and light-headedness
  • Lack of sweating despite the heat
  • Red, hot, and dry skin
  • Muscle weakness or cramps
  • Nausea and vomiting
  • Rapid heartbeat, which may be either strong or weak
  • Rapid, shallow breathing
  • Behavioral changes such as confusion, disorientation, or staggering
  • Seizures
  • Unconsciousness
If you notice any of these signs, get out of the sun and try to cool of, sit down, drink water, wet and fan the skin, take a bath, and if that doesn't work have someone drive you to the hospital or call 911.

Remember, if you feel thirsty, you are already dehydrated.  Stay safe out there, friends.
